ICFM5: Tours and Cultural Events

Technical visits and cultural tours will be organised on 30 September (one-day course) for interested participants and guests.

General Information:
1. All tour courses are based on the minimum number of 30 passengers. If the minimum number of passengers is not reached, we will ask you to change your reservation to another course or to cancel it completely (for a full refund).
2. All tour courses will be held on 30 September. You can select only one course.
3. Fee: Technical Tours are 5,000 JPY per person and Cultural Tour is 10,000 JPY per person. (Taxes, travel cost and lunch are included)

Technical Tour Courses (5,000 JPY per person)
Technical Tour Course 1: Arakawa River (8:30 to 18:00 September 30)Tentative plan: Depart from Akihabara at 8:30. Observing the mitigation plan for flood disaster in Japan at Edogawa River office Area (Metropolitan area outer underground discharge channel). Lunch. Arakawa River Museum of aqua(learning the history of flood management, early warning system, hazard map, and dialogue with residents). facility observation (Iwabuchi water gate, Arakawa Super Levee, Sumida river). Arrive at Akihabara at 18:00

Technical Tour Course 2: Tsurumi River (8:00 to 14:00 September 30)
Tentative plan: Depart from Akihabara at 8:00. Tsurumi river retarding basin at Keihin-river office, Underground reservoir. Learning the history of flood risk management in rapid urbanized area (urbanization, structural and non-structural measures, city planning, early warning system and hazard map). Lunch. Arrive at Akihabara at 14:00

Cultural Tour Course (10,000 JPY per person)
Cultural Tour: Tokyo Sightseeing (8:30 to 17:30 September 30)
Tentative plan: Depart from Tokyo Akihabara at 8:30, Observing Tokyo Tower, Visiting Meiji Shrine, Passing Akasaka and Diet Building, Visiting around the Imperial Palace, Pass Ginza, Lunch, Visiting Japanese Garden at Hamarikyu, Sumida River Cruise, Visiting Asakusa, Pass Kappa-bashi, Arrive at Akihabara at 17:30
